How to Translate Reddit From Thai to English (Step-by-Step)

Website TranslationBilingual ReadingHow-ToThai to EnglishReddit

Reddit is full of thoughtful Thai-language posts, from AMAs to detailed write-ups — but the text is only as useful as your reading speed in that language. The usual friction applies: open the translation in another tab, lose the thread and the upvotes, or read slower than you would like.

Bilingual translation removes the trade-off. The Thai post stays and the English meaning appears right beside it, so you can follow a discussion quickly and still check the original for tone.

Demo note: the screenshots below are built in a real Reddit post layout to show exactly how BothLang displays a bilingual thread — the original comment on top and the translated text directly beneath, with a hand-drawn arrow pointing at the translation.

What you need

  • BothLang installed in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox — see the download page.
  • The extension pinned to your toolbar.
  • A Thai Reddit post open in a tab.

Step 1 — Open the post

Open the Thai post or comment thread you want to read.

Step 2 — Set English as your target

Click the BothLang icon. Set Translate into to English (en) and Page display to Bilingual.

Step 3 — Translate the page

Click Translate Now. BothLang places an English translation directly beneath each Thai paragraph, leaving the Thai intact. A hand-drawn arrow marks the first translated paragraph.

Step 4 — Switch reading modes

  • Bilingual — source and translation together.
  • Translation only — fastest.
  • Original only — back to clean Thai.

Step 5 — Hover one comment

Hold your shortcut and point at a comment. Only that passage is translated.

The short version

  1. Install and pin BothLang.
  2. Open a Thai Reddit post.
  3. Set Translate into: English, Page display: Bilingual.
  4. Click Translate Now.
  5. Read the English with the Thai original underneath.

Try it on your next Thai Reddit thread.
