How to Translate Reddit From French to Chinese (Step-by-Step)

Website TranslationBilingual ReadingHow-ToFrench to ChineseReddit

French-language content on Reddit is rich and worth reading. If Chinese is your stronger reading language, the usual friction applies: copy the text into a translator and lose the layout, or read slower than you would like.

This guide shows a third option — translate the French post in place, directly into Chinese, with bilingual translation. The French stays visible and the Chinese meaning appears right beside it, so you can read the meaning quickly and still check the original for any word, name, or phrase.

Demo note: the screenshots below are built in a real Reddit layout to show exactly how BothLang displays a bilingual page — the French paragraph on top and the translated Chinese directly beneath, with a hand-drawn arrow pointing at the translation. The workflow is identical on any post because BothLang works on whatever page you are viewing.

What you need

  • BothLang installed in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox — see the download page.
  • The extension pinned to your toolbar.
  • A French-language post open in a tab.

Step 1 — Open the French post

Open the French piece you want to read.

Step 2 — Set Chinese as your target

Click the BothLang icon. Set Translate into to Chinese and Page display to Bilingual.

Step 3 — Translate the page

Click Translate Now. BothLang places a Chinese translation directly beneath each French paragraph, leaving the French intact. A hand-drawn arrow marks the first translated paragraph.
